Magallanes Renovables all around the world

The President of the Xunta de Galicia visits our offices

Yesterday we received the visit of the president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda, in our offices in Redondela, where we presented our pioneering tidal energy generation project.

Accompanying him, in his first official visit after winning the elections, was the Regional Minister of Economy, Industry and Innovation, María Jesús Lorenzana and the delegate of the Xunta de Galicia in Vigo, Ana Ortiz.

Those present visited the facilities of Magallanes Renovables. There, they were able to talk to the workers who have made the construction of our floating platform, ATIR, possible. They leart about the history of Magallanes Renovables and its pioneering technology. They were also interested in our progress in the tidal energy sector and our future plans. An appointment that demonstrates, once again, Galicia’s commitment to renewable energies.

The Galician company came up with a cheaper and simpler model, on a floating platform anchored to the seabed. Magallanes is now among a select group of leading tidal energy companies. They provide a fixed tariff for 15 years, offering essential support and stability for innovative projects. Magellan’s future plans include the construction of ATIR 2.0 to further revolutionise the sector. All this, Magallanes granted the necessary permits to install the world’s first tidal farm.
